INTRODUCTION
This information we hope will help you with your decision to prevent further violence in your life. Please leave this information with a friend or somewhere other than your home. If your abuser finds it, it may put you in danger.

There is help available. You can take the steps to get away from the abuse. Our office is here to assist you with options to help you be safe. We can assist you in filing for divorce and obtaining a protective order. We will work with you and the police if necessary. We have trained advocates who can go to court with you. We offer a smiling face and non-judgmental listening ear. It is possible to end the violence in your life.

All services we provide are free of charge and strictly confidential. No one, not even your spouse or significant other, will know if you call us for help. You are welcome to call, and not give your name, if that is best for you. We are in the office most of the time on weekdays from 9am-4pm. If we are away from the office for a short time, we have an answering machine. Please leave a message and we will promptly return your call. If at any time you are in immediate danger, please call 911. If you need to speak to us after hours or during the weekend, for non-emergency situations you may call our pager number 812-352-1079.

We do not have shelter services available in this county. If you are in need of a safe shelter to go to in another county, please call the 24 Hour Hotline with the Indiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence 800-332-7385. The hotline has information about shelters in other counties. You can take your children to any shelter you choose and the shelter staff may be able to help you with transportation arrangements. You may also be able to obtain a temporary protective order against your abuser when you stay overnight at an out-of-county shelter.

You may feel like you cannot leave your abuser at this time, but need to make arrangements to get away at a later date. We can help you with a safety plan and other options to remain safe. You may just need someone to talk with to release your frustrations and answer questions.

Please call if we can be of any help.
